Fundamental safeguarding takeaways at CSO meeting in Lagos

Join RSH mentor Oluchi Ihedoro as she shares in this vlog some safeguarding reflections and learnings gathered during an exchange coming together she facilitated for civil society organisations (CSOs) in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Safeguarding RSH Nigeria Hub rounded off its first phase of the mentoring program in Baronial 2021. During the exchange meeting towards the program's stop, iii mentored CSOs shared key takeaways, while 5 non-mentored organisations too took part in the exchange. These had earlier participated in a focus group discussion organised by RSH to amend the RSH Nigeria Hub'due south offerings.

During the meeting, participants reflected on how the RSH safeguarding mentoring program improved organisational civilization and made impacts on their organisations.

"On that mentorship of RSH, nosotros've learnt and then much more about safeguarding," said Nneoma Ezuma from the organisation Women's Rights and Health Project. She added that before, "we didn't have the full context of what it meant." She added that the mentoring has helped build the organisation'due south capacity, develop their policies, and supported the organisation in holding safeguarding trainings.

Later on, Adebukola Adeyemi of Humanity Family unit Foundation for Peace and Development (HUFFPED) highlighted the mentoring program's relevance to her organisation'due south vision of improving staff relationship and respect within HUFFPED.
